]NLSIU-Post-Graduate students Excel !!

The National Moot Court Competition for the Post Graduate (LL M) students was organised by the Department of Law, University of Pune from January 23rd to 25th, 2010. Problem identified by the organizers for the said competition was focussed on the contemporary issue of Bio-piracy and human rights, wherein the business of smuggling flora and fauna from biodiversity rich countries needs little investment and carries little risk of discovery and penalty, and needs regulation at the International and National level. There were also issues of Intellectual Property Rights and enforcement. It was the desire of the organizers to provide an opportunity for the participants to get an exposure to this aspect of the International dimension of the Law.

Law School students (this time the Post-graduates who participated for the first time) continue the tradition! The Post-graduate students (LL.M) of the National Law School of India University, Bangalore participated in the competition. The team consisting of Mr. Ashish Kaushik, Praveena Nair S, and Kumar Abhijeet bagged the "Best Memorial Prize" and were adjudged as the "Runners up" in the competition.

The Vice-Chancellor Dr. R. Venkata Rao, Chairman of the Post-Graduate Council, Dr. T. Ramakrishna, Registrar Dr. V. Nagaraj, and the faculty members have expressed their appreciation for this success.
