International space law is the body of norms in international law that regulates human conduct in outer space. Hence this course is designed to build on the foundational knowledge on public international law offered as a compulsory course to undergraduate law students in Year 4.

The syllabus, focussing on the constitutive treaties and principles of space law, is designed to serve as an introductory course to the subject. As the title of the course suggests, it exclusively deals with international laws applicable to activities in outer space. As such, national laws on outer space, despite their proliferation in the last two decades, will not be discussed in detail.
