Nishtha is an editor of academic and popular nonfiction writing, with a keen interest in bridging the two. She has worked in book and journal publishing, as well as independently with scholars, artists and filmmakers. At NLSIU, she manages research publications and extends editorial and publishing support to faculty and researchers. She also manages the NLSIU Scholarship Repository, an open-access platform that hosts journals and diverse scholarly writings by the NLSIU community.

As Co-Director of The Writing Centre, she is part of a team dedicated to strengthening reading, critical thinking and writing practices amongst the NLSIU student community. This includes teaching academic reading and writing, and holding one-on-one sessions at The Writing Studio.

Nishtha graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in English literature from Lady Shri Ram College for Women, New Delhi, and a Master’s Degree in English literature from Delhi University. Trained as an editor at Yoda Press, Delhi, she went on to work with the Indian Institute for Human Settlements (IIHS), Bengaluru, where she helped drive publishing strategy across digital and print platforms, and co-curated a city-writings festival. She also served as writing faculty at IIHS’ Urban Fellowship Programme, and conducted writing workshops for researchers, academics and development sector professionals.
