Call for Applications | Research Assistant | ‘AMRUT Scheme and Realisation of Fundamental Right to Water

NLSIU invites applications for one role as Research Assistant under the ‘AMRUT Scheme and Realisation of Fundamental Right to Water’. It is a contractual assignment (4 months), based out of National Law School of India University, Bangalore.
The project aims to examine and analyse the implementation of the AMRUT scheme in Bengaluru city concerning the realisation of the human right to water. It shall also analyse the role of this scheme in promoting water conservation in urban spaces. This empirical research funded by ICSSR requires data collection and compilation, which demands closer working with households, non governmental organisations in the water sector and government departments identified by the project investigator.
Role Description
Research Assistant
The work will include data collection (conducting interviews and discussions), compiling the data, translation from Kannada to English. The person is expected to assist the Project Director in collection, analysis and compiling the data, preparing the final report, and conducting workshops.
Qualifications
Essential:
Ph.D./M.Phil./Postgraduate in a social science discipline with minimum 55%
Minimum six months experience in empirical research experience; proficiency and ability to collect, process and present field work data.
Desirable: Knowledge about water law, policies, and government water supply schemes in India and Karnataka.
Skills
Essential:
● Demonstrated proficiency in speaking, reading and writing Kannada and English fluently
● Ability to work in a team, Demonstrated proficiency in the use of MS office, Good communication, organising and time management skills
Desirable:
● Experience as an interpreter in Kannada and English
