NLS Faculty Dr. Mrinal Satish Nominated as Member of National Legal Services Authority (NALSA)

NLS faculty member Prof. Mrinal Satish has been nominated by the Central Government as a member of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA). Prof. Satish is Professor of Law and Academic Dean at NLSIU.
Dr. Satish is among the 9 members who have been nominated by the Centre. The NALSA has been constituted under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 to provide free Legal Services to the weaker sections of the society and to organize Lok Adalats for amicable settlement of disputes. The other members who have been nominated are:
Former Orissa High Court Chief Justice Dr. S Muralidhar,
Sitting Punjab and Haryana High Court judge Justice Arun Palli,
Senior advocate and NLS alum Siddharth Agarwal (NLS BA LLB ’98),
Senior Advocates Sidharth Luthra, Meenakshi Arora,
Bar Council of India Chairperson Manan Kumar Mishra,
Prof. Debasish Basu, Professor and Head, Department of Psychiatry, PGI, Chandigarh, and
Prof. Asha Bajpai, Founder Dean, School of Law, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, who was also a former faculty member at NLSIU.
