Our Own Universals: Notes from a Reading Group in the Postcolony

This essay brings together reflections from a reading group at the National Law School of India University, Bangalore. Drawing on the experience of curating a series entitled ‘History of Ideas,’ the authors examine the vantage points from which we engage with social and political theory. They go on to locate these discussions within larger debates around decolonising theory.
