Invitation to teach Module/s at NLSIU

August 27, 2024

NLSIU invites expression of interest from academicians/practitioners interested to teach a Module/s as part of ongoing courses taught at the University in the Academic Year 2024-25.

The list of core courses being offered at the University for the Academic Year can be viewed on the respective programme pages on the NLS website.

Interested persons may offer one or two module (s) of a course that can be taught over 1 -2 (one to two) weeks with 6 (six) hours of classroom engagement for each week. They may indicate the themes (along with a set of readings) that they are interested in teaching as part of a course.

After a review of their request, the University will match selected candidates with a Faculty member teaching the relevant core course. Where the area of interest of a person does not fit within any of the core course, they will be matched with a Faculty member teaching a connected elective course. The selected candidates shall collaborate with the Faculty member assigned to them and shall, in consultation with the Academic Administration Department and the concerned Faculty member, finalise the term and the month in which these sessions shall be scheduled.

All classes are to be held offline at NLSIU Campus. They would be held between 08.50 hours and 19.10 hours on weekdays only.

The University will reimburse one economy-class airfare, to-and-fro from Bengaluru for domestic flights only. Further, the University will pay an honorarium to the visiting faculty at an applicable rate and make necessary arrangements for accommodation for individuals selected to teach after mutual discussion.

The University will not be able to provide any reimbursement for international flights.

Individuals who are desirous of teaching at NLSIU must invariably possess a graduate and post-graduate degree in law or the Social Sciences, or Humanities. Post-qualification experience of 5 years or more will be preferred. Alternatively, they may have at least 10 years of post-qualification experience in legal practice. We recommend that interested persons should obtain the necessary permission from their employer or the government (wherever applicable) before they submit their application.
