Profile
Abhirup is a graduate of the School of Law Christ University, Bengaluru and the New York University School of Law where he was a J.N. Tata Scholar.
Abhirup began his career at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) where he worked as an Academic Associate. He began his legal practice at Ashira Law in Bengaluru. At Ashira Law, he worked extensively on cases involving divorce, custody, and maintenance. He also worked on many civil disputes. Abhirup also practised at IndusLaw and was a Senior Associate in their Bengaluru office. At IndusLaw, Abhirup regularly represented clients before several courts and tribunals, including the High Court of Karnataka, City Civil and Sessions Court, Commercial Court, National Company Law Tribunal, Debts Recovery Tribunal, Real Estate Regulatory Tribunal, and Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission. He also represented clients in domestic and international commercial arbitrations conducted at various centres including the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).
In 2024, Abhirup established his own chambers and is a practising advocate in the Karnataka High Court in Bengaluru. He is also empanelled on the Karnataka High Court Legal Services Committee. Abhirup has also been appointed as Court Commissioner to record evidence in several suits by the Commercial Court, Bengaluru, including in a suit from the year 1996.
