The last 40 years have witnessed a transformation above all in India’s identity. An outcome of its fierce and competitive democracy, this course will equip students with the politics, policies, big personalities and the
passionate protests and debates that have irrevocably transformed India.

From Indira’s India and its tryst with populism to Modi’s India and Hindutva, and from the economy to foreign policy the course will further study the social churn and cultural practices that have contextualised this
transformation.

You will be expected to read approximately 50-75 pages a week.
