This course aims to provide an understanding of certain key concepts and practical issues relevant to commercial arbitration practice. It should not be seen as a substitute for a formal course on arbitration law since it does not cover all aspects of arbitration law or all provisions of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 (A&C Act). Rather, this course focuses on those concepts and practical issues which are more likely to arise in the course of a typical commercial arbitration. This course should be offered to those students who have already completed a formal course on arbitration law and seek a more in-depth engagement with this field of law.
