Course description and structure

The understanding of Competition law and its enforcement is incomplete without an understanding of the underlying economic rationale. The course aims at explaining the fundamental theoretical economic principles necessary for assessing anticompetitive practices and its use in the enforcement of competition law. It will also provide an entry level understanding of basic econometric techniques used. While the course will be based on the Indian Competition Act it will use cases from other countries such as the US and the EU for a better understanding of the use of economic techniques.
