This is standalone course, designed to give the students an overview of development prospects and problems. The course intends to map out the dynamics of development in terms of how it has conceptualized over the period of time by the various development thinkers. How, the new phenomena of development has occurred which included human values, equity and justice more than the market and economy.

The instructions will be facilitated through lectures, interactive session, case studies, documentaries and critical readings. The response papers will be discussed in the class as a part of their presentation. The learning expectation is to enhance critical and informed understanding.

Furthermore, the course is divided into two module, first module will be discussed the development origins, definitions, meaning and perspectives. While the second Module will discussed in the continuation of development and its impact on Indian society. The course will be concluded with the contemporary social movements with leaving the new dimensions of research which could be possibly development as an exclusion.
