The course of Energy Law and Policy is a standalone course. The preferred pedagogical method used will be seminar style discussion where during the lecture that is being given, discussion is encouraged in order for students to clarify their doubts, but also to provide their insights on a given problem. As for the structure of the course, first the students will be introduced to the basic concepts of energy law. Further, different branches of energy law will be discussed such as, inter alia, nuclear law or renewable energy law in order for students to gain understanding of how these branches function. Many examples of how energy law is regulated in the EU (but also other jurisdictions will be discussed) will be given in order for students to see how different states approach regulating energy. This course takes a comparative and a reflective approach and the goal is to provide sufficient knowledge on the principles that form the foundation of energy law as well as showing different solutions by discussing other legal frameworks.
