The course is designed to enable students to understand policy architecture when they approach a policy in question. Text books on policy designs classify (introduced as part of Introduction to Public Policy course in first trimester) Policy architecture as information-based, authority-based, treasury-based, organization-based. Aim of this course is to enable students to appreciate different tools and techniques available (through case studies) to make decisions while prioritizing any of the above four models in the policy architecture. The course is divided into four modules. Each module will deal with a) managerial tools b) new public management approaches, c) causality-led models and d) service delivery designs. In every session there will be an activity which would be done in groups to drive home the implementation relevance of the concept.
