Profile

Prof. Hegde was previously Assistant Professor and Course Coordinator for the Post- Graduate Diploma in International Trade and Business Law at the Indian Academy of International Law & Diplomacy, Indian Society of International Law (ISIL), New Delhi, and was Assistant Editor for the Indian Journal of International Law before joining the National Law School of India University as Asst. Professor in April 2002.

His areas of specialization in international law include Law relating to International Commercial Transactions, International Trade & Investment Law, Biotechnology & Law and Private International Law.

Mr. Hegde is a Member of the ‘Genetic Engineering Approval Committee (GEAC)’, Ministry of Environment & Forests (GOI). He was a Member of the Indian Delegation to the Open-Ended Ad Hoc Working Group Meeting, Montreal (February, 2007) on the Issue of Liability & Redress in the Context of the Car tagena Protocol on Biosafety. He is also a Member of the ‘Consultative Group on Biodiversity Issues’, Ministry of Environment & Forests (GOI). He is elected as member, Executive Council of the Indian Society of International Law (ISIL), New Delhi.

Mr. Hegde has contributed to the Asian Yearbook of International Law (AsYIL) and the Indian Journal of International Law (IJIL).
