Profile

Pranav was previously an Assistant Professor at NALSAR University of Law where he taught core courses on ‘Law of Evidence’ and ‘Administrative Law’, apart from two elective courses on ‘The Death Penalty in India’ and ‘Jurisprudence and the Paradox of Wicked Laws’. During his time at NALSAR, he also coordinated the University’s flagship Lecture Series on Constitutionalism, and organized guest lectures from distinguished speakers.

His academic interests lie in public law and criminal law. These interests are also reflected in his ongoing research and publications. Currently, he is part of an ongoing research study on extra-judicial killings in India.

Pranav is is currently pursuing his doctoral studies from NALSAR as part of which he is investigating the Chief Justice of India’s administrative discretion of constituting benches and allocating subject-matters to them, in the specific backdrop of cases perceived to be politically sensitive.

Research interests

His research interests lie in constitutional law and criminal law. He explored the practice of death sentencing in India as part of his Master’s programme and is currently studying the CJI’s administrative discretion to set up benches and allocate cases to them as part of his doctoral work.
