Profile

Vijetha began her legal work experience as a Judicial Law Clerk at the Supreme Court of India while primarily focussing on labour and service matters. This focus then prompted her to  independently and collaboratively conduct several labour, service and family law matters before the High Courts of Delhi, Madras and the Supreme Court with a focus on fair labour practices and workers’ rights. Vijetha has also worked as a Research Assistant in a series of academic projects including at the Centre for Human Rights Studies at the Jindal Global Law School, and the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Fundamental and Human Rights with a focus on multi-disciplinary legal work.

Her broad research interests have been influenced by this work and include the regulation of informal work, labour history, questions of critical legal pedagogy and legal anthropology. She is presently engaged in several projects with the Centre for Labour Studies in her capacity as the Co-Director involving policy and advocacy work concerning various informal work sectors in India, with a specialised focus on platform work.
