The National Law School of India University (NLSIU), invites applications for one full-time position of Trainer at the Centre for Child and the Law (CCL) for a period of one year. This position will be based in Ramanagara with weekly travel to the CCL, NLSIU office at Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru.
About the Centre
The Centre for Child and the Law (CCL) was established as a specialized multi-disciplinary research Centre of NLSIU on April 1, 1996. The Centre integrates research, direct field action, and teaching on child rights law. We use law and socio-legal strategies as tools for transformative social change to enable children to live with dignity. Our aim is to ensure social justice, human rights and quality of life for all children in India, with special focus on equitable quality education, care, protection and justice for marginalized and excluded children.
About the Role
Responsibilities:
● Community mobilization and awareness generation, organizing meetings with the communities
● Preparing training modules on nutrition governance, right to food and associated topics
● Conducting training sessions for stakeholders in rural settings
● Conducting meetings with PRIs and other stakeholders at panchayat level
● Data collection and data entry in the prescribed format.
Qualifications
Essential: Bachelor’s degree in social work, social science or related field
Desirable: Master’s degree in social work, social science or related field
Experience
Essential: 3 to 5 years of work experience in community mobilization in rural setting, data collection and trainings
Desirable: Working with local self-government and community-based organizations
Skills and competencies
Essential
● Ability to function independently
● Ability to record data using online and offline tools
● Excellent communication skills in Kannada
Desirable
● Excellent planning and prioritization skills.
● Ability to work in a team, contributing to both team and individual goals
● Demonstrated proficiency in speaking, reading and writing Kannada and basic knowledge of English
